Thank the Nation’s Female Protectors at the Military Women’s Memorial

May was Military Appreciation Month. If you didn’t have a chance to celebrate members of our armed forces last month, plan to visit the Military Women’s Memorial this June. After recent renovations, it just reopened to continue its legacy of honoring the women who’ve bravely served their country.

Head toward the famed Arlington National Cemetery, and you’ll immediately spot the stunning stone memorial. A reflecting pool sits at the heart of its courtyard, surrounded by a semi-circle of a beautiful stone building. Within its walls, you’ll find permanent and special exhibits that pay homage to the female military members who’ve had a huge impact on the trajectory of the nation. This summer, enjoy an art exhibit filled exclusively with works by active-duty military and check out the “Color of Freedom” exhibit, which specifically highlights women of color in the military. Both exhibits can be enjoyed in person or virtually, based on your comfort level. If you opt to visit in person, be sure to stop by the gift shop. Proceeds from anything you buy benefit a nonprofit that supports women in the military.
